Fees and Appointments
Clear information about starting counselling, weekly sessions and how fees are agreed.
Your initial appointment
Your first appointment is a 50-minute meeting with a senior counsellor. It gives you time to talk about what brings you to counselling, ask questions and consider whether our service is right for you.
The initial consultation fee is £55. After completing the Client Information Form, you will be taken to Stripe to pay securely by card.
Your appointment is confirmed once arrangements and payment have been agreed with the office.
Ongoing counselling
Counselling normally takes place once a week for 50 minutes, at the same day and time. Regular attendance helps provide continuity and supports the therapeutic work.
Sessions may be offered in Frome, Bath, Bristol or Street, or online via Zoom, subject to availability.
Daytime appointments may be available sooner than evening appointments.
Affordable fees
As a non-profit organisation, Wessex Counselling & Psychotherapy aims to make counselling as affordable as possible. The initial consultation costs £55. The standard ongoing fee is £55 per session, although a reduced fee may be agreed based on individual circumstances.
Some sessions are offered by counsellors undertaking advanced clinical training. They work to the same professional and ethical standards and receive regular clinical supervision.

Cancellations and missed sessions
Once a regular weekly appointment has been agreed, that time is reserved for you. Your counsellor or the office will explain the cancellation and payment arrangements before counselling begins.
